Online RCR Course

West Virginia University offers the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) RCR course for researchers who wish to take it by directive or voluntarily. For those researchers, staff, and students who have taken the CITI human and/or animal research protections courses, the process and format are the same. The online RCR course can be found inside the CITI Program site. To begin the course at the CITI site, you will need to register. If you are new to CITI, or if you are already registered, then you should simply login with your username and password. Follow the directions on that page and you will be able to find the RCR course.

Once you have reached the list of courses, you will discover that, under the first heading “Responsible Conduct of Research” there is a list of six (6) RCR courses. Please choose the most appropriate course for your current or expected area of research. You do not need to complete more than one of the six courses.

The online course is currently required for any student (undergraduate or graduate) or postdoctoral fellow who will be funded by any NSF research grant that was initially awarded any time after January 4th, 2010.
